Words to live by: Isaiah 43:2-4 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you…Since you are precious in My sight… and I love you. When go through life on your own, you are more likely to drown, but when you invite the Lord to go with you, he will protect you.
This trip was a reward conference from my husbands company. These conferences are always so fun because, not only do we get to do things on our own, there are always fun activities planned by their incredible event staff.
On Tuesday evening, we were brought to a local farm, that is actually an event sight where people hold weddings and other large gatherings. When we arrived, we were treated to passed hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Then were encouraged stroll around the farm/winery and partake in the many activities offered. There was tomato chucking – picture a giant slingshot, where you could sling tomatoes across the pasture, horseshoes, and horse drawn carriage rides. As we were waiting for the carriage, there were waiters passing around delicious little treats and wine.
Since it was so chilly, our event staff made arrangements to rent 50 large heaters! You can see them between every table. In addition to the heaters, they bought a bunch of fleece blankets that you could help yourself to. It was so fun to cuddle up and watch the evening entertainment.
While she enjoyed a beautiful buffet dinner of prime rib and smoked salmon, lumberjacks entertained us with with some friendly competition. Not only did they chop things up, they climbed poles and balanced on logs in the water! I’ve never seen anything like it!
I really liked this projection on the side of the barn. And how about that company logo? A heart with a cross in it. It makes my heart happy that my husband works for a company with strong Christian roots.
I plan to be back tomorrow with a post detailing my daughter and her fiancé’s engagement party! I hope you will stop by for that 🙂
Have a lovely day my friends!
