Happy Wednesday Friends! Here we are on day 4 of the Create28 challenge. Your look with colored bottoms was the prompt for today.
I decided to go with my red jeans since I just purchased them recently and couldn’t wait to style them again. I was in the mood to do a little pattern mixing, so I grabbed this pretty, plaid scarf to to pair with my polka dot sweater. If you are wondering how to successfully mix patterns (read: not look like a 3 year old picked out your clothes), just make sure your patterns repeat the same colors. For instance, the sweater has a cream background with black dots. The scarf also has a cream background and has black and red lines going through it. I like the way my red pants pick up the red in the scarf.
We took these pictures on Saturday when the wind chill was -7 degrees. We snapped them quick, then ran back in the house. I wanted to show the outfit with a black cardigan too, but we gave up!
I love the way bright colored pants give life to an outfit. If you haven’t tried colored pants yet, I encourage to give them a try. If nothing else, it will get you out of the black and grey rut!
For tomorrow, we will be styling a look featuring polka dots. Wait – didn’t I just do that?? You’ll have to check back tomorrow to see what I come up with!
The Rundown: Red jeans – The Limited; Polka dot sweater – Target; plaid scarf – a gift
I read in a Bible study recently a sobering thought: What if you only had tomorrow, what you thanked God for today? Think about it: your life, your spouse, your children, your home, job, food, etc. Now of course we know God doesn’t work this way. But it certainly reminds me to thank God for the blessings in my life!
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Have a lovely day my friends!
