Words to live by: Ephesians 6: 11-12 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take up your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of the evil in the heavenly realms. In our Christian walk, we battle against the powerful evil forces of fallen angels headed by Satan, who want nothing more than for us to sin and turn away from God. When you feel tempted, defeated or overwhelmed, call out “Jesus help me!” and trust Him to do just that.
So I’m writing this post from my usual spot on the couch. No surprise there except that my hubby and I were supposed to be off on a little vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We had planned to leave Thursday afternoon. We have been mapping out our road trip for weeks and had rented a lovely condo on the beach. Then Hurricane Matthew began to make threats and we had to cancel! I know there are people who are experiencing much worse than a cancelled vacation, and I feel terrible for them. I’m just kinda bummed. This is our 3rd year in a row to have a vacation cancelled by weather! Februay ’14 – trip to California cancelled by snowstorm. Februay ’15 – trip to Savannah, Georgia cancelled by snowstorm. So this year, we said forget Februay! We will go away in October, and we will drive! Then it won’t be cancelled. Whoops. Except by a hurricane!
In today’s look, I mixed some old pieces with my new burgundy jeans. I have been looking for a pair of pants or jeans this color for while and happen to come across these from Old Navy recently. They are the “Rockstar” style. I have tried this style in the past, but was never a fan of the fit. However, when I saw this perfect color, I decided to give them another try. I was pleasantly surprised and after wearing them for a full day, I can report that they held their shape nicely – no saggy bottom!
I paired my new jeans with and old dark, floral blouse and a carmel colored cardigan.
Haha! This pose is my ‘I wish I could figure out a different way to pose than my usual hand on my hip.’!!
As the day wore on, I ended up removing my cardi. Here is how it looked without the cardigan.
For jewelry, I’m wearing a pair of drop hoop earrings and a beaded necklace in the same shade as my pants. Since it was pretty chilly in the morning, I didn’t want bare toes, so I opted for my Lucky brand cognac flats.
It’s nice that the weather is finally cooperating and I can actually wear Fall appropriate outfits!
Have a lovely day my friends!
