Happy Friday!! And you know what that means….as promised, another Fashionable Friends Friday feature! I’m so excited to introduce you to a fellow Style Challenger. Debbie Falcone is one of those people who you can tell by her style and her smile that she really enjoys putting together a cute outfit! I ‘met’ Debbie a couple of challenges ago and was drawn to her easy, comfortable outfits as well the pretty setting in her home! Please meet my Fashionable Friend!
Isn’t she just beautiful?
Hi! My name is Debbie and I’m from Staten Island, NY. I have been married for 28 years and my husband and I have two beautiful children, a daughter 23 and a son 19. I will be turning 53 in August.
I was flattered when Karen asked me to participate in her “Fashionable Friends Friday”! I have always loved fashion, and even attended the Fashion Institute of Technology for a brief time. I worked on Wall Street for 10 years then became a stay at home mom when my daughter was born. I traded my dresses and heels for jeans and flats, but I always tried to look somewhat presentable even if I didn’t leave the house. Now I work from home and still “get dressed” every day. It feels great when someone compliments me on my outfit or even just an accessory I may be wearing!
As I got older, I started to feel like I would have to give up on the trends or stop wearing certain clothes. I almost felt that I shouldn’t try to bring too much attention to myself. However, with the help of the Style Challenges, fashion bloggers like Karen, my Style Challenge “friends”, Pinterest and even Instagram, I have learned that fashion is not just for the “young”. People at any age can look stylish, trendy and put together. There are definitely some looks I will leave to the 20-something’s, but I’m not ready for my grandmother’s house dress just yet!
Thank you Debbie for participating in Fashionable Friends Friday! Also, can we take a hot minute to look at that leopard print carpet under her feet?? Love Love Love!
I leave you today with an outfit I wore to work this week.
