Well it’s Friday, and I’m thrilled to share with you a new feature here at She Thought She Could – So She Did! Welcome to Fashionable Friends Friday, where each Friday for the next several weeks, I will feature one of my fashionable friends with you! Sometimes they will be ‘vitural friends’ friends, whom I have met online, and sometimes they will be personal friends. First however, I would like to give a shout out to sweet Leslie, who blogs at Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After, for first featuring our challenge sisters!
Today, I am thrilled to introduce to you, Marta! I just love her beautiful, infectious smile! I first ‘met’ Marta a couple of style challenges ago. She always manages to look stylish, put together, and she is not afraid to try different looks. I wish we lived closer – I’m sure we would be ‘real life’ friends!
My name is Marta Misleh. I was born and raised in the beautiful riverside town of Cincinnati, Ohio. I’m married to a wonderful chef and we have five of the sweetest boys you could ever meet. I now work as a Pastoral Associate at my parish, but for over 20 years I was a stay at home mom who homeschooled our sons. It was a great experience for our family.
With five boys who loved to hike, play sports, and play outdoors, my clothing mostly consisted of t-shirts and yoga pants or jeans. When I started working, I had to start from scratch, so I was lucky enough to find fashion blogs that helped me find the inspiration I needed. I desperately needed the basics and learned a lot from some capsule wardrobes that were put together by different bloggers. I also subscribed to Style magazine for some easy accessorizing ideas. I loved finding out about the fashion challenges. It made it so easy to start with some basics and add my own twist to each look.
I love walking out the door feeling put together. It does make a difference in the way I carry myself throughout the day. Getting compliments for shoes, scarves, earrings….doesn’t hurt either! I’m also the wedding coordinator at my church, so I love dressing up each weekend for such a special occasion. I’ve gotten so many great sales tips and clothing tips from the participants in the fashion challenges. Having figured out how to start with a basic wardrobe and accessorize to make new outfits has been so much fun for me
Having a chef for a husband and five growing boys makes meal times a highlight at our house. We are a serious family of foodies! Although I will try anything, I’m actually a real meat and potatoes kind of girl. A good steak and baked potato is perfect for me. Now that our boys are grown men, my husband and I get to try new restaurants and travel.
Isn’t she a doll? I want to thank you Marta, for being my very first feature on “Fashionable Friends Friday”!
In other news….
I had a an outfit post for you today, buuuuuutttttt, my computer decided to not want to cooperate! It keeps telling me ‘error message’. Yuck. Well, I guess I have some figuring out to do this weekend!!
So continuing again in Ephesians 4 with verse 32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Have a lovely day my friends!
