With all the extra calories consumed this holiday weekend and the weeks to come, I thought I’d share my favorite low calorie, high fiber and delicious breakfast. It’s a green smoothie. Don’t be frightened. I promise it’s really good and very filling. I typically make this each work morning. I drink it between 7:15-7:45. This keeps me full until lunch. No attack of the mid morning munchies! This is how to make it:
1 Banana, 1 to 1 and a half cups of almond milk,
a good sized spoonful of almond butter (don’t
try to substitute peanut butter – not the same
at all!) a good sized handful of fresh spinach
or kale, several ice cubes
I place everything in the blender. You don’t need a juicer for this one. Give it a whirl til smooth. Enjoy!
Tips: The more ripe your banana, the sweeter your smoothie will be.
