Happy Friday my Friends!
Today the Style Me Bloggers are sharing “How Does My Garden Grow?” photos. Truth be told, We don’t have a huge vegetable garden. Just a few plants – tomatoes, cucumbers and squash. This is more my husbbys thing, where I like to tend my flowers.
I have some patio pots that I plant each year.
This little darling sprung forth from between the stones that make up our patio! I have no idea where it came from, but it’s determination makes me so happy.
I thought I’d share a green outfit since we are talking about plants. How’s that for a segue?
I just can’t get enough of these blue wedges! I ‘ve already started thinking of ways to to transition them into my work wardrobe for the early fall.
And not for yet another book review! Honestly, I have loved having lots of extra reading time this summer.
I recently finished What Alice Forgot, by Liane Moirarty.
What a thought provoking book this was! This is the story of Alice, who has an accident at the gym and is knocked unconscience. When she awakens 10 minutes later, she thinks it is 1998 instead of 2008. She has lost 10 years of her life. In those 10 years, she and her husband, whom she adored, have had 3 children and are now going through a divorce. She is so lost and confused and all she wants is to talk to and be comforted by her husband, but he will have nothing to do with her.
The author does an amazing job of putting you, the reader, in the mind of someone who has amnesia. I thoroughly enjoyed this book – in fact, it was definitely my favorite read of the Summer so far!
Liane Moriarty also wrote The Husband’s Secret and Big, Little Lies which I have also read and will review soon!
So this was a pretty packed post – gardening, outfit of the day and a book review! Phew.
Words to live by:
A little more on what the Bible says about words: Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Please check out how my friends, the Style Me Bloggers, gardens are doing this summer!
