Words to live by: Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who trust in him. The relationship we have with God is up to us. We have free will to choose. With that choice we enjoy God’s response. Will you choose to pray with thanksgiving and then trust Him?
Tuesday was a free day for us (no planned activities or excursions) so after breakfast, we decided to hike around Tubb’s Hill. It is easily accessible from the hotel and perfect for a morning hike. There is a 3- mile loop that goes along the lake with beautiful vistas everywhere we turned.
After our hike, we decided to head into town to check the place out. It was a very quick to the main street where there were tons of little shops, restaurants and bars. There were hanging flower baskets on every old fashioned light post. After shopping a bit, we were getting hungry so we headed over to Hudson’s Hamburgers. We had heard from several locals that this was a not to be missed stop. It’s a little hole in the wall spot that has been in business, owned and operated by, the same family since 1907.
Now the thing about Hudson’s is that they operate pretty much the same way since they first opened. Nothing new, fancy or newfangled in regards to their menu. Which is: single or double hamburgers and pie. Your choice of toppings for your burger include and are limited to: cheese, onions, pickles. There were tee shirts for sale that had a big circle and a line through it stating what you can’t have! No lettuce, tomato, bacon, mushrooms, french fries, or credit cards! Haha.
I’m pretty much a burger girl at heart, so this was divine!!
If you go, don’t miss the homemade pie for dessert. Since I didn’t have fries, I figured “Why, yes! Don’t mind if I do.” 🙂 Honey had french silk, I went with coconut cream.
We love to try local places when ever we travel. It makes the trip so much more memorable.
I hope you have the opportunity to travel somewhere new this summer. Even a town not too far away, that you have never explored before can be a memorable adventure. If possible, don’t say no to the pie.
Have a lovely day my friends!
