Hello my sweet friends! Boy did I have a busy weekend! So busy in fact that I was not able to get my usual Monday morning post up until Monday evening. Whoops.
I had lots of errands to do Friday after work, then came home and collapsed. On Saturday, my husband hosted a client appreciation bus trip to Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox play. Prior to the the trip, we hosted a tailgate party with a ton of food and and beverages. (Sorry, no pic – I was working too hard!!) We had a great time at the game and the Sox won! We returned home pretty late, and hosted some overnight guests because on Sunday we went to my step daughter’s graduation party. (Phew – Are you tired yet?) After the party, I dashed off to my daughter’s dance recital! I’m telling you, non-stop fun all weekend!
Here is what I wore to the graduation party and to the dance recital:
I have fallen hard for the kimono trend, people! I have to say that for months, I have seen other bloggers style them, and always had the same reaction : “None for me, thanks.” But all that flew out the window the minute I tried one on. Turns out, they are really just a very versatile, printed top! This particular style has a side slit so that I have the option to where it down, like an open cardigan, or tied at the waist. Fair warning: It’s going to actually be sick just how often I actually wear this thing!
The dance recital was held at a very exclusive, all male boarding school. The students are home for the summer, so the studio rented out the beautiful auditorium. I mention this because the grounds of Avon Old Farms are just so lovely, that we decided to snap a few more outfit pics.
Isn’t it purdy?
So my advice to you my friends (not that you asked – I get that, but here it is anyway) is, to go out and try on a kimono! And if you do, try to wear a solid top and bottom when you try it on, to get the true effect of the print. Don’t say I didn’t warn you – they are addictive!
Wearing: Kimono – Windsor; Top, purse – Target; White jeans – Loft; Wedges – Payless; Earrings – Macy’s
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Jesus wins. End of story. I’m so thankful that I’m in his corner – or more accurately, he is in mine.
Have a lovely day my Friends!
