Happy (almost) Independence Day! The 4th of July celebrations are almost upon us and as I here of more and more horror and tragedy in other countries, it makes me ever more proud and thankful to be an American.
July 4th parties are always a fun time to get your patriotic on. I thought I would show a few different looks that I literally scrounged from my closet and drawers. I decided to gather everything I could find in either red, white or blue. Then I just started putting things together. Here are a few of the looks I cam up with:
Also, this is Zoey’s “before pic”. She is at the parlor today getting her “puppy cut”! Look at her sweet eyes! Poor thing is as blind as can be.
How about a maxi for casual dinner party? I decided to show a close up of the wedges that I have been wearing non stop. They are a neutral wedge that goes with just about everything and they are just so darn comfortable. Cant’ stop. Won’t stop. They aren’t too high, so I have even been wearing them with shorts too. My legs could use a little help in the length department – you know what I mean?
This was a really fun post to put together. I enjoyed seeing just how many combos I could come up with. When my daughters were little, I used to go to Old Navy each summer and deck them out in all the cute flag gear. As an adult woman of a certain age, I prefer to take the patriotic color route. How about you? Do you like to show your American flag colors? I challenge you to go gather up all your red, white and blue and come up with some new outfits!
We are going to party downtown, so I will probably wear the maxi dress outfit.
Wearing: Striped top – Kohls; Boyfriend Jeans – American Eagle; Red Flower statement necklace – Target; Polka dot Tee – Gap; White shorts – Loft; Striped espadrilles – Marshall’s; Maxi dress – JCP, Tank – ON; Wedges – White Mountain from Macy’s
Hubby brought Zoey home as I was writing the post so I couldn’t resist posting her “after pic”! Plus they gave her a nice stars and stripes bandana so she totally fits the theme!
1John 4:18 There is no room in love for fear. Well formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling a fearful life – fear of death, fear of judgement – is not yet fully formed in love. ~ The Message Thought for the day: The opposite of fear is LOVE so today meditate on God’s unconditional love for you and watch fear leave your hear and life!
Have a lovely day my friends!
