Words to live by: James 1:13-15 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God Cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire , he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
I have a confession to make: I am a lipstick junkie. No joke. I think I have a problem! I’m always on the hunt for the perfect color. I can’t even tell you how often I come home with a new color to try. I started really thinking about how much lipstick I have a few weeks ago.
My fellow blogger friend, Amy, from Amy’s Creative Pursuits, posted a picture of herself wearing a lovely shade of red lip color. I commented that I liked that color and asked what was it. She told me in the comments, that it was Revlon #045 Romantic. For some reason I thought it sounded familiar. Well, sure enough, a few weeks later, while trying to retrieve a water bottle that rolled under the seat of my car, look what I found:
Yup. Lucky me, I already owned it. Haha!
Well that got me to thinking about all the lip color I own.
This is my current working collection. I tend to swing between sheer reds, rosy pinks and light, almost nude pinks.
I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorites. (Well I thought it would be fun, until I started taking pictures into the mirror and couldn’t figure out which way to look!)
Now please bear with me as I show you a few selfies of me in different shades!
This is Maybellines “Warm Me Up”. It is a barely there, my own lips just slightly better color. I have decided that this is one of my least favorites on me.
Next we have:
This is Revlon’s “Fig Jam”. I first heard of it from MeginTime. This is a really nice brownish pink. It’s a great everyday go to. Only problems is that it is now longer in stores. I did however find it at BuyMeBeauty.com
This is Cover Girls #290 “Berries n Cream”. As for a nude like pink, I like this one better than “Warm Me Up”.
This Tarte’s “Watermelon”, a lovely sheer bright(ish) pink. This one looks much darker/brighter in the tube. One of my faves.
Here we have Revlon’s “Berry Smoothie”. Bright, sheer pink. Love.
This is Revlon’s “Candy Apple”. This is probably my favorite sheer red. Nice and glossy.
Unfortunatly the lighting doesn’t do it justice, but here is Revlon “Romantic”. It is actually a lip balm stain. This means that it is moisturizing like a balm, but it does actually stain your lips with color so it lasts a decent length of time. Since I changed my hairstyle a couple of weeks ago, this has been my go to color.
I realize that with my very non professional selfie taking skills, you can’t necessarily see the subtle or even not so subtle differences in my lip color. If you are in the market for lipstick, hopefully the descriptions will help you out! Well this concludes my series on obnoxious bathroom mirror selfies!
Have a lovely day my friends!
