What lovely weekend we just had here in Connecticut. The weather was picture perfect. I have to say that it was about the best weekends I have had in I don’t know when! On Friday, the Husband and I went out to dinner to Chops N Catch. It’s a local place with the most delicious menus items. We shared lobster sliders and deviled eggs. I had seafood stuffed scallops and lobter tail. Yum! On Saturday, the weather was gorgeous and we did a ton of yard work. Later in the day, we went to Lowes ( because we are home owners, so that is a perfectly acceptable precursor to date night), dinner out, and then to see “The Age of Adeline”. If you get a chance, I say ‘go see it!’ What a lovely story! A beautiful romance without being too sappy. Even the husband liked it.
Sunday we went to the early service at church. Then, my eldest daughter (I have 3), took me to the Book Barn. The Book Barn is an open air used book store. There are several small building to explore, as well as gardens and barns filled with books! It is a readers dream!
Next we set out for the outlets. Now I need to let you know that the outlets are a good hour plus from where we live. We just don’t get there very often, so this was a treat! I need to confess to you that I did in fact break the self imposed shopping ban. I know….fail! But friends, it was a day of shopping, at outlets, with my daughter!!! Sorry. Not sorry! We had a great time (and by great time, I mean, great success) at the Loft outlet store. We also fell in love with these darling blouses at J Crew – mother – daughter style! (No, we didn’t buy them). But seriously, how cute are they??
After all the shopping and fun, we headed home to find that the husband had planned a surprise dinner! What a sweetheart! My sweet middle daughter joined us for this.
I felt completely spoiled and loved this weekend. I hope you did too.
On Friday, I meant to share an outfit with you, but my computer was being snarky. It has somehow recovered from it’s bad attitude. So here is what I had planned to share on Friday:
This grey tee was very popular with ladies in the spring Style challenge. Casey, one of the challengers pointed us in the direction of this fun little tee from Express. I decided to pair it with my white ankle jeans and silver sandals. I can definitely see this as my summer go to outfit!
Wearing: Grey tee – Express; White ankle jeans – Loft; Silver sandals – Target; necklace – Charming Charlies
Friends, again we are reminded not worry about man thinks, only what Gad thinks. Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the the Lord is kept safe. The fear of human opinion disables, trusting in God protects you from that. – The Message
Have a lovely day my friends!
