Words to live by: Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. God does not leave you on your own to cope with problems. Even when you don’t know the right words to pray, the Holy Spirit prays with and for you you.
Well I did it! I tried Stitch Fix for the first time. For those who are not familiar with Stitch Fix, it is a subscription clothing service. You go online and fill out a fairly extensive style profile. Then you schedule a fix. They then send you 5 items to try on at home. If you decide to keep all 5, you will receive a 25% discount on the whole order. If you choose to send it all back, you have to pay $20 as a styling fee. They provide you with a bag to put anything that you want to send back in. Super simple return. They have different price points and you can choose which price point you are comfortable with. Stitch Fix offers clothes, shoes and accessories. I opted for clothes only since I usually don’t spend that much on accessories and I find that I really need to try on my shoes.
I was able to tell to my stylist exactly what I was looking for and boy, did she listen! I said that I wanted longer length tops with pretty prints, a light weight cardigan and may be a maxi dress.
I was so excited to find this on the doorstep!
And now for the unboxing…..First out of the box was this geometric striped tunic. My first thought was “Meh…not sure if this is really my style.” But let me tell you, once I tried it on, I absolutely loved it!
It is a cotton/rayon blend with a nice smooth finish. It is tunic length, so I can definitely wear it with my navy, capri length leggings. I can also wear it with skinny jeans and of of course white jeans.
Next up was this pretty, sheer, floral print blouse. I loved the print and the length. It was just a tad snug across the bust, but I could make it work! This was $54
Next was this navy blue, open weave cardigan. This was $58
Next up was this beautiful v-neck tunic top:
Long enough to cover all my junk!
The is dress is so pretty in person! However, here is where all my excitement came to a halt. You see, it is fine standing up, but when I try to sit, it was too tight across the seat. UGH!!! I kept trying to talk myself into it: “Oh you can just hike up the skirt a bit when you sit down…every time.” So that and the fact that I would have to wear a strapless bra (which I detest), I decided that this would have to be returned.
“But wait! If I return this, I won’t get the 25% discount.” (The frugal shopper in my head kept saying!) If the dress had fit, I would have kept everything and been extremely happy with my first fix. But, since I couldn’t see keeping the dress, decided to let go of the floral blouse that was a tad tight too. After more thought, I decided that even though the cardi was beautiful and unique, I probably wouldn’t wear it that often.
So what did I keep?
The geometric tunic! $54
If you decide to schedule a fix, be sure and be very specific with what you are looking for and I think you will love it! If you decide to try it, I would love it if you used my referral code:
Will I order another “Fix”? Yes, definitely! Probably not until early Fall though.
Have a lovely day my friends!
