Words to live by: 1 Peter 4:9 Offer hospitality to one another with out grumbling. Uh oh. Was he talking to me?? I mean, I love to have company over, but admit that I do a fair amount of grumbling beforehand! ‘The house is not clean enough for company. …. Ug. I have to go to the store to get something nice to serve…… I want new furniture!’ If God is asking me to do this, I definitely need to get better at it. I need to plan ahead and have a few things on hand to serve. I also need to let go of my idea of a ‘perfect house’. It’s the people and the relationships that happen in the house that matter.
I was at work this week when I noticed a co-worker was wearing a scarf that I also own. She still had on her coat so at first I didn’t see the whole outfit, but noticed right away that she wore wine colored tights that matched perfectly with scarf. Once the coat was removed, I could see a simple skirt and blouse, but was so struck by how cute scarf/tight combo was and knew right away that I was going to steal this look!
The color here is not perfect, but hopefully you get the idea.
The thing I love about this outfit is that I already had everything to copy it/make it my own. Also, I love wearing tights and this super comfy, corduroy, a-line skirt. I ended up receiving lots of compliments in this. I went up to my co-worker to show her what I was wearing. I told her that I took a page from her stylebook. I think it made her day!
Sometimes the best outfits are staring at you in the face!
I realized that I have never formally introduced you to my new booties, even though I bought them about a month ago. Friends, meet my super comfy booties from Target. I love the cognac color! They have a little padding in the footbed and feel really nice to wear all day.
Outfit photos wear me out!
So on the Christmas preparation homefront: Decorating – done, shopping – 90% done, wrapping – nada (meaning not one single thing wrapped yet), Christmas cards – 85% done, baking – nada (but plan to hit that up this weekend!). How are your preparations coming along?
Have a lovely day my friends!
