Words to live by: Psalm 91:2 You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you. God is a shelter and a refuge. When we are afraid, we should trade all our fears for faith in Him – no matter how intense our fears. To do this we must dwell and rest with Him, entrusting ourselves to His protection, pledging our daily devotion to Him.
I recently was able to spend a lovely afternoon with my youngest daughter, Tessa. You will remember her from the engagement party post here.
We drove about an hour away into the eastern hills of Connecticut to the location of hers and Casey’s wedding next September. We wanted to see how it looked while in full summer bloom.
Needless to say, it was beautiful. They have lots of new plantings which will be more mature next year so it will be even more pretty. I’m not going to show much of the grounds, because it is for Tessa’s special day. (Kind of like not showing her wedding dress before the day!)
We decided to use the opportunity to get some outfit photos in. Can’t let a pretty location and a willing photographer go to waste!
I bought this top recently from Macy’s. I just loved the lace detail and the little ruffle at the hem. I think it will be great for work too. I can see it with cardigans on denim jackets in the later Fall.
Here is an up close of the detail. It also comes in a beautiful rust color that I am tempted to go back and get. (It is much more of a rust color than what it shows online.) I paired it with my favorite coral shorts and Ugg wedges. For jewelry, I wore a long, tasseled, turquoise necklace, my coral and turquoise bracelet last seen here, and my favorite hoop earrings.
After touring the grounds and mansion, where the wedding will take place, we were ready for some lunch. We went to the Vanilla Bean Cafe. It is such a cute little place in a rather remote part of the state. We enjoyed delicious sandwiches out on the deck.
It was such a peaceful, laid back back kind of day. I will miss summer days like these when I am back in school.
Have a lovely day my friends!
