Today I’m sharing one of my favorite Summer Go-To looks. What is a “go-to look” you ask? It’s an outfit or a piece that I grab over and over again! It’s something that I know will work without a lot of effort. It’s a look that is appropriate for a variety of occasions.
Can you guess what I chose? I bet you can if you have been following me for the last several weeks. It’s the kimono! I find it works in so many ways. Also, kimonos are typically printed with many colors, so you can match it up with several different tops to create lots of outfits. I have two and am on the hunt for one with some Fall colors so I can keep the party going come October!
Speaking of parties….This is how I wore my go to kimono outfit recently to party on a hot, humid night:
My daughter recently had a birthday and I surprised her with a little party at Muse Paint Bar. I told her it was going to be just the two of us for a Mother-Daughter night. She was so surprised when her two sisters and her two best friends arrived! We had a blast!
If you have never been to a “Paint Night”, it’s where there is a pre determined painting that we all learn to paint. All the supplies are provided and the instructor talks us through the whole thing. Everyone leaves with their own interpretation and finished painting. You can purchase snack and drinks. I highly recommend a glass of wine – or two. It takes away some of your inhibitions therefore making you a better painter!
What a fun night! I’m blessed with my 3 girls, but I love their friends as well.
Hubby and I are heading to California for vacation this weekend – yay! We will be spending time with family, wine tasting and exploring Santa Barbara. You can follow along on our adventures on Instagram @karen.strand
Wearing: Kimono – Windsor; tank – Target; Shorts – Old Navy; Wedges – Macy’s
1John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. Real love is an action, not a feeling.
Have a lovely day my friends!
