Words to live by: 1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. This verse tells us we are members of God’s own family. We have our earthly family and our eternal, heavenly family.
I have been sharing about our trip to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and thought I would finish up with a few pics of our last two days there. To see all of my Idaho posts, just click on my home page and scroll through beginning here.
We had a fun dinner that was hosted right at the hotel for the entire group which was almost 300 people! I wanted to get some outfit photos before we went in, but there were entirely too many people to maneuver around so we just took a quick couple before we went in……and I forgot to remove my name lanyard! Looks like an odd choice for a statement necklace!
In an effort to save room in my suitcase, I chose not to bring my black wedges since this would have been the only night I would have worn them. Weeelllllll…..Turns out, I should have left out some of my summery outfits, since it was so cold, and packed my black wedges!
I love whenever there is a pretty presentation. Whether it be the flowers, the place setting or the plated food. It takes so much effort to coordinate an event like this, and we sure were not disappointed. The first thing I notice were the gorgeous floral centerpieces.
Here is my sweet friend Mary, saving our seats. We always try to sit at these events with some of our friends, and it can be tricky to get everyone at the same table.
There are an awful lot of forks here!
Our first course was sushi and it was fabulous.
Next up was salad with both red and yellow beets. I really enjoyed this.
Dessert was so pretty!
I only took a bite of each to try them….but they were so yummy!
Since it was fairly chilly while we were there, we took advantage of the indoor pool and hot tubs.
My bathing suit is from Land’s End and I highly recommend that brand if you are still in the market for a new suit this summer.
For our very least evening, we were treated to a boat ride across the lake to visit the property of the family that basically built Coeur d’Alene. I first noticed the huge expanse of beautifully manicured lawn. We were told it takes 12 full time gardeners and landscape artists to maintain this property.
There are two stunning swimming pools. One that is fed by brook that runs under the house!! Part of the house is built up on huge platforms in order to make way for the brook and under house gardens.
You can see the huge expanse of lawn right under house!
Here is the brook as it appears behind the house.
There were several waterfalls on the property.
That glass of wine in my hand? The event staff had two bars set up for us. We could grab a drink and explore the all the beautiful sites.
Here is another swimming pool. It was actually located next to the guest house. (Uh, can you imagine a house that size, and you still need a guest house??)
I’m sitting on the jacuzzi, and that’s an infinity pool behind me. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Our time here was finished and we headed back on to the boat to cross the lake to the conference center for another incredible dinner!
I have an idea! Let’s take outfit photos. Again, too windy. I just couldn’t catch a break!
This is our friend and part of the amazing event staff at Thrivent, Lynn.
We had such an wonderful time in Coeur d’Alene. If you ever have the chance, I hope go. You will not be disappointed!
I’ve enjoyed sharing my vacation with you. I hope you have enjoyed it too. I know it’s different from my usual outfit photos in my own yard. As I have mentioned in earlier posts, I really like sharing more of my life with you. We have a couple more trips planned this summer, so hopefully I will be able to share them with you too.
How about you. Do you have any vacation plans this summer? I would love to hear about them in the comments.
