So first, the obvious: It snowed! It’s funny that I chose to wear this white sweater today – it hardly shows up against the snowy backdrop. Hey, if Mother Nature can wear white after Labor Day, then so can I!
My sweet husband gave me this sweater for my birthday. I’ve never worn a peplum style top before, but I really like the shape. In fact,I’ll probably wear this same sweater/button down/necklace combinations with pants later this week. Listen, when I find something that works, I wear it to death.
The Rundown: Sweater – White House Black Market; Button down – thrifted; Skirt – Gap; Necklace – Charming Charlie’s; boots – Target; Purse – Kate Spade via Nordstrom Rack
The world’s standards are different from God’s and the world blesses for different reasons than God does. You see, life is good in the world if you are rich, or strong or healthy. Life is good if you are pretty, or smart or successful. However, those things don’t matter to God. In Matthew 5:3-12, Jesus tells his disciples who God will bless: the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger or thirst for righteousness the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, those who are persecuted because of righteousness. Jesus says these are who will have a great reward in heaven.
Our Pastor presented a great lesson on this explaining how we need to be salt and light to affect the world around us. He had the children pass out these little candles and packets of salt to the congregation. It was such a sweet reminder to share with the world what we have.
Have a lovely day my friends!
