Words to live by: 2 Timothy 1:7-8 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power and of love and of self discipline. So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord. This is definitely a verse I need to remember and keep on my heart.
Hello and Happy Monday! How are you doing? Are you feeling content with your closet? I’ve not shopped since the end of December and while that may not sound like a long to some people, it is for me!
We had a party to attend at a slightly fancy restaurant on Saturday night and man, let me tell you, I wanted to go out and get something new to wear in the worst way! But I held fast, and marched myself into my closet and found a perfectly good outfit. I have to say, it felt really good. It felt good for a number of reasons. It felt good to use and wear the perfectly good things that I own – that I chose at one time or another because I liked them and thought they looked good on me. It felt good to not be a slave to to my discontent and whims. It felt good to not spend money that I didn’t need to. And finally, it felt good to stick to my commitment to not shop.
I didn’t get a picture of the outfit because it was dark by the time we left. I know, style blogger fail!
However, I did get a picture of what I wore to church.
I hope you are finding ways to feel content with what you have! Please share in the comments how you are doing and working this out.
Have a great week my friends!
